Alexandra Kokin

Alexandra was born and raised in Moscow, in a Jewish family that had endured the traumas and upheavals of the twentieth century. Her family stories are marked by exile and silence, survival and loss. Her childhood and youth unfolded during the late Soviet “stagnation” and the turbulent years of perestroika - a time when established meanings collapsed and the past had not yet become history.

People of her generation, living in the twenty-first century, still carry the imprint of those unhealed wounds.

In 2022 Alexandra made Aliyah, returning to the land of her ancestors. This move was not only geographic but existential , a turn toward her roots, her faith, and her light. Out of this transformation emerged a new line of work signed Golda.

Alexandra and Golda form a single continuum, two voices of the same artist. One speaks through memory and testimony, the other through light and hope. Together they express a journey of return, from exile to home, from chaos to harmony, and from darkness to radiance.
